Thank you for staying to read a bit about me! My name is Sai Siddartha Maram, but you can call me Sai, Sid, Siddu, or Maram. Interestingly, my birth on May 11, 1998, coincided with Buddha's Birthday, leading my father to name me 'Siddartha', which was Buddha's birth name.
My education journey took me to various places, including Chennai, Zurich, and Hyderabad, before I completed my undergraduate studies at Thapar University, Patiala. I then moved to California for my PhD. These diverse educational experiences enabled me to learn English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, read Kannada, and understand some German.
When I'm not immersed in academic or UX work, I enjoy watching movies, OTT shows, crafting, playing my Ukulele, or exploring cafes. As a product of a Telugu household, I have a deep appreciation for Telugu cinema. Watching movies enriches my UXR and academic work; I pay close attention to direction, dialogues, and narrative styles, incorporating them into my work. I also enjoy films in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
My foray into UX sparked an interest in crafts and art. Thanks to YouTube, I learned to play the Ukulele and ventured into painting and sculpting, although I'm still a novice. You can see some of my initial works below!
I'm always eager to try new desserts 🍰 around the Bay Area. If you're a coffee ☕ or bubble tea 🧋 enthusiast and enjoy discussing academic HCI, AI, or just networking, please reach out! I'm also open to suggestions for new places to explore.
